Itinerary

Detailed itinerary of Condor sighting day tour

To start this day trip, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco.  We then start driving through a beautiful mountain scenery, after one hour car drive we will arrive to Vilcaconga great lookout for Salkantay Mountain, we then will start descending to the Valley of Limatambo. Where you can buy water or any additional last minute supplies. After a short stop at this village, we will continue our Condor sighting tour driving uphill on the dirt road towards to the community of Chonta (3,400 m).

After 1 ½ hours of moderate hiking, you will be arriving to the lookout of Hahuacco. This point has amazing views over the Condor canyon (Apurimac canyon) and Vilcabamaba mountain range. With a little bit of luck we will have a great moment watching Condors; it is common to see this majestic birds soaring in their natural habitat and overflying the Chonta canyon. In the afternoon we walk back down to Chonta for 1 ½ hours. We then drive back to Cusco.
