The pick up for this great tour is at 07:00 am from your hotel in Cusco. Immediately leaving the city you will drive to direction to the Sacred Valley. After 35 minutes by car you will arrive to our first destination. Chinchero, a beautiful Andean town with descendants of the Incas and amazing mountain scenery. You stop here to interact with the traditional weavers of Cusco region. This will be your unique opportunity to learn about hand-made textiles using ancient Inca Techniques. After to enjoy a pleasant moment with women weavers you will drive to Maras and then to Moray.
Description:
Moray: A natural mountain formation fixed by the Incas with circular shape terraces. Which probably functioned as an experimentation center to acclimatize the different crops to different micro-climates. You will get to visit the tree portions of Inca buildings
Salt mine or pans: belongs to the families from Maras town, is a mine discover in the pre-Inca times. This mine is still functioning and its the main supplier to Cusco region with table salt. The Salt pans of Salineras are located in the lower part of Maras town close by Urubamba River. A weird salt mine with more than 3000 pans on the slope of a mountain face.
Urubamba: A lovely valley with a nice weather, was the main farming center for the Inca Empire. Nowdays became the most popular town in the valley and usually tour groups stop here for lunch. Urubamba valley is very extense, includes also an other great places with incredible lanscapes:
PISAC: A colonial town considered as the begiining part of the Urubamba Valley. It has the biggest souvernir market in the sorroundings of Cusco. highly suggested to visit on Sundays because the typical farmers makert, which takes place at the main square of Pisac.
On the top of the mountain you will visit one of the major Inca sites in the Sacred Valley. This complex is formed by great farming terraces, water channels, temples and nighboorhoods. After to explore this stunning Inca ruins you will drive back to Cusco.
