Cusco City Tour – Itinerary

Day 1.- Qoricancha – Cusco & 4 ruins

Travelers are picked up from their hotel at the appropriate time. After a very short drive by car, you will get into the down-town. You will start the City Tour visiting Qoricancha, a spectacular Inca Sun temple, the best one in the Puma city during the Incas heydays. Afterwards you will walk to the main square of Cusco or Huacaypata. Where you will admire all the big catholic churches from XVI century. Being the Cathedral as the most amazing one. Which is definitely the richest and stunning church in South America. Later on, you will drive to the northern-east of Cusco, to visit the great four ruins of Cusco.

Sacsayhuaman is quite amazing and outstanding Inca Temple located on the hill, just outside of Incas’ Capital. The guide will take you around the huge Inca walls, constructed with giant lime stones, which weights approx. 128 tons perfectly joined to each other. Then you will be going to visit another interesting Inca site called Qenqo, a weird rock formation with great carvings and passages from inside. Probably here is where the Incas mummified some very important people in their society. You will finish the Cusco city tour visiting the ceremonial baths of Tambomachay and the military check point point of Pukapukara, and then you will get back to Cusco.
