Itinerary for Short Inca trail tour
DAY 1: CUSCO – KM 104 – WIÑAY WAYNA – MACHU PICCHU.
At the schedule time, we will pick you up from the hotel in Cusco and transport you for 1 hour and half to the train station of Ollantaytambo; in about 1 hour and 40 minutes we will get to km 104 the beginning of the short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. After to cross the check point we will start hiking uphill for about 3 hours until to reach the beautiful site of Wiñaywayna, This is an impressive site made up of an agricultural center with numerous terraces, a religious sector and an urban sector.
We will be able to explore this charming and marvelous Inca complex; afterwards we will eat our box lunch. The second part of our hike is easier to the Gate of the Sun and then we will walk down to Machu Picchu; we will be able to take pictures from the upper part of Machu Picchu (classic view); we then take the bus to Aguas Caliente town and stay at the hotel.

DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
In the morning after breakfast at the hotel, our guide will pick you up from your hotel, then board the bus that will take you to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Where you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Sun Temple, the Sacred Sun Dial (Inti huatana), the Royal palace, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Main temple, Sacred Roca, warehouses, a large central square; and all the most interesting places.
It will be an unforgettable experience at this mysterious and charming place, considered one of the new 07 wonders of the world. After the guided tour, free time to explore the zone on your own or you can take the hiking options:
- Climb to Wayna Picchu; for the most adventurous people, we suggest to go up the Wayna Picchu from where you can observe the immensity of Machu Picchu, even more amazing being high and distant (we suggest you to book in advance).
- Walk to the popular Inca Bridge
In the afternoon at the schedule time we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, and then take the Train back to Ollantaytambo and then you will be picked up by our transfer. The journey by train takes approximately 1:40 Hours and 1:30hours by car to get back to the hotel in Cusco.

You should bring for the Short Inca Trail:
- Original passport and immigration card
- Rain gear, insect repellent and sunblock
- Money in cash (soles or dollars)
- Small back pack with essential items
- one liter of water per person and sun hut
- Walking poles with rubber tip
Important note:
- Spaces for the Short Inca Trail and Wayna Picchu Mountain are limited, we kindly suggest you to book it in advance to assure your trek permits for this hike.
- The number of tickets for Wayna picchu Mountain offer by the government office is 400 spaces per day, usually this is booked 6 months in advance.
- Train service can be up-grated to Vista dome service class with an additional of 50.00 USD depending on the availability of the spaces.
- Hotel in Aguas Calientes can be up-grated to the superior class with an additional of 80.00USD for two bed room.
